Economic Impact Payment Tools

The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service launched a new web tool for Non-Filers to allow for quick registration for the Economic Impact Payments for those who do not normally file a tax return.

The tool can be used to give basic information so you can receive an Economic Impact Payment as soon as possible. The site is secure, and information entered will be safe. Please click here to get started.

Who should use the Non-Filers tool?

  1. Lower Income: If you have not filed a 2018 or 2019 return because your income is under $12,200 for an individual or a married couple that makes less than $24,000.
  2. Veterans beneficiaries and Supplemental Security Income recipients: The IRS is looking for a way to see if payments can be made automatically. If you do not want to wait, please file with the Non-Filers.
  3. Social Security, SSDI and Railroad Retirement beneficiaries with qualifying dependents: These groups will automatically receive $1,200 Economic Impact Payments. People in this group that have children u under the age of 17 may use the Non-Filers form to claim the $500 payment per child.
  4. Students and others: If you were claimed on a tax return by someone else, then you will not be eligible for the Economic Impact Payment.

The IRS has built a new tool called “Get My Payment,” which will provide people with the status of their payment. This will include the expected payment date for automatic deposit or check by mail. Click here to check the status of your payment.

An additional feature will allow eligible people a chance to provide their bank account information to receive the payment more quickly. This feature in unavailable if the Economic Impact Payment was already scheduled for delivery.
